Q3 June 26th Meeting RESULTS

Kemptville Scout Group :

Link: About: Scouts Canada

Note that donations that they receive will go to the local chapter of Scouts.

Scouts are receiving $3250!

This was the wish list that they presented at the meeting. Seems that their wish has come true, thanks to 100 Men!

#1) New canoe gear, such as 10-15 new paddles and some new throw-bags.  We love to go canoeing whether we are teaching paddling skills on a meeting might, going on a canoe trip, doing our spring Kemptville Creek runs with the Venturers & summer evening canoe activities. We also lend our canoes to the Guides (annually) and the Knights of Columbus (annually) for their retreat.  A handful of our canoes need some repairs to thwarts and decking.

#2) Our gear trailer and canoe trailer need some TLC—new tires for our Cub trailer (which hauls all our gear to camp) and a new hitch and chain for our canoe trailer.

#3) A portable port-a-potty/camping toilet with a small pop-up shelter and a portable fire pit so we can safely facilitate full-day skills activities in Ferguson Forestry Centre for our senior sections (Scouts and Venturers).

The youth of Scouts also wished for:

#4) A water filter, a food barrel with harness and lightweight backpacking gear—this was requested by our Venturer Scouts who want to do more back-country experiences.

#5) Our Beavers want some compasses to learn compass skills when they go hiking.

#6) Cubs would like a few hand tools such as coping saws and table clamps for building Kub Kars.

“At Scouts, boys discover their potential, build their confidence and embrace their power as changemakers, innovators and leaders. Whether experimenting with STEM, going on outdoor adventures or building real-life skills, they’re learning to be bold, curious and connected – all in a supportive, inclusive space.”

ABOUT US

Who We Are

The 100 Men Who Care North Grenville group was formed in June, 2017, when six men met to discuss a program developed by Karen Dunigan, a business leader and former mayor of Jackson Michigan. She started the fundraising program when she learned of the need for 300 baby cribs for low income mothers and families. In less than an hour she raised $12,800. Since 2006, the 100 Who Care Alliance has grown to hundreds of chapters worldwide. In Canada there are now over 201 chapters which include mixed groups, women’s groups, men’s groups, and kids & teens groups.

100 Men Who Care North Grenville is a volunteer group where 100% of the funds raised are donated to local CRA registered charities. We are a diverse group of men from different socio-economic backgrounds including a wide range of ages. However, we all have one thing in common: we’re committed to making a difference in our community.

How it Works

The concept is simple:

100 men + 1 hour meeting @ 4 times per year + $100 quarterly donation (or automatic monthly equivalent) each = over $10,000 donated quarterly to the community which you serve!

Join us for the North Grenville Chapter edition of this amazing charity and help bring positive change to your community.
